Our Short Establishment History
Organizing an institution that provides professional support with the aim of supporting the policies, strategies and decisions made by the regional government through designing a long-term research and study, is not only important for the acceleration of the development of the region and the country, but also because it is necessary to strengthen the cohesion of the people and their common values. The institute is one of the regional institutes organized in accordance with Article 39 sub-article (1) of Proclamation No. 199/2015 issued to determine the powers and duties of the executive bodies of the Council of Central Ethiopia Regional State. Therefore, to attract and retain a group of highly skilled professionals with better capacity, preparedness and interest to carry out and coordinate research activities that suits the unique characteristics of the institute, and in general, it is an institute
MISSION
To provide support to the regional government and the overall development of the area by conducting research and studies that indicate recommendations and can be used to design preferred policy directions and strategies.
VISION
To be a preferred and reliable research and study institute that generates recommendations that can be used to design policy directions and strategies based on fact-based information, scientific principles and long-term plans to ensure government development and good governance.
Powers and Duties of the Institute
The Institute has the following powers and duties:
Generates policy and strategy ideas; advises the state government on policy matters;
Conducts timely and in-depth research on policy and strategy issues; generates solutions.
Identifies and coordinates researchers who have interest, knowledge and readiness to implement the region's policy and strategy; conducts policy and strategy research in cooperation with universities and other research institutes as needed; publishes approved research results, and distribute them.
Generates initial ideas regarding the institutional construction to ensure social and economic competitiveness, which helps to strengthen the support and leadership to achieve the mission of the government; conducts research, and the findings of the research are presented to the relevant government body, and implements them.
Organizes various seminars, workshops and conference forums to promote policy study and research; prepares and gives short-term trainings in collaboration with the relevant bodies;
